EPSON 3880 PRINTER REBATE PRO
With its new Stylus Pro 3880, a long-awaited follow-up to the well-received Stylus Pro 3800, Epson refines some of the innovations it introduced in that model, while adding some features that trickled down from its more expensive large-format printers over the past year. The simple (and not entirely representative of reality) arithmetic is that the K3 carts give 7 times the ink of an R1900 cart, but for 3.5 times the price. You are providing your consent to Epson America, Inc., doing business as Epson, so that we may send you promotional emails. Serious home printing demands a serious printer. I notice that B&H discounts the list price of $60 for the K3 carts down to $45, but there is no "shopping cart" discount for the $13 carts for the R1900. If I take your point correctly, by the time you run out of ink that comes in the box with the 3880, you will have run through 7 cartridge changes on the R1900 (Ka-ching, Ka-ching.)? That leaves aside the question of whether all cartridges drain at identical rates (presumably a few carts are changed often and others less so) and how each printer loses ink to head charging, cleaning, cart swapping, etc. I presume that all printer problem complaints or queries fall on deaf ears at Epson/Canon if it is known that after-market products are in use? No wonder I've seen so many forum posters refer to the after-market continuous ink systems. At $12.99 for each R1900 cartridge and eight cartridges in each set, those extra six sets would cost you $623.52 That is seven cartridge set changes on the R1900 for same volume of printing. The 3880 cartridges are 80 ml each, the R1900 cartridges contain only 11.4 ml of ink. With the rebate, the 3880 isn’t nearly free, but it is very inexpensive when you consider the amount of ink it comes with.
